Father Who are Our Heroes FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions). What is Fathers Who Are Our Heroes? Fathers Who are Our Heroes is a fundraising event to do two things: (1) to assist and encourage students who attend historically black colleges; and (2) to showcase the positive Black man, and responsible fathers or father figures. Each year, we are committed to raise a minimum of $1,000.00 to be awarded to a student of a Historically Black University or College. What kind of Track Record do You have? The last few years the event has been held in memory of Blaine E. Smith, Sr. with the proceeds going to his alma mater North Carolina Central University. Our Mission is to assist and encourage students who attend Historically Black Colleges or Universities. While we raise money for black colleges and universities we will be a resource of encouragement for the caring and positive Black man, and involved fathers and father figures in our communities. Why Do You Affirm Black Fathers? While we do appreciate good fathers of all ethnic backgrounds, and certainly affirm their positive influence on the family, we focus on Black men and men of color because there isn't enough affirmation of these men in the general society.Go to Donation Option Page |
